First-Of-Its-Kind Event Aims to Connect The North Texas Life Science Community

Don't miss the North Texas Life Science Career Symposium taking place tonight at the Community Beer Company in Dallas.

Tuesday evening’s first ever North Texas Life Science Career Symposium aims to connect local academic students with career opportunities in the world of life sciences.

The conference will be held at the Community Beer Company in Dallas on May 21, from 5 – 9 p.m. Top academic talent from UNT, UT Dallas, UT Southwestern, SMU, UT Arlington, and other North Texas universities and research centers will all be in attendance, the symposium says.

In addition to graduate students and prospective employees, key opinion leaders, and several life science companies and organizations will be at the event for recruiting purposes. Attending companies range from venture capital firms to pharmaceutical companies, and everything in between. 

Two featured keynote speakers are Dr. Gaurab Chakrabarti, MD, PhD, who is the CEO of Solugen and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, and Dr. John Milligan, PhD, who is the former President and CEO of Gilead Sciences, Inc. 

Current attending companies include: Gilead Sciences, Health Wildcatters, Cadent Medical Communications, BioNorthTX, Gray Reed & McGraw, and more. You can find a complete list and register to attend on the event website.

Speakers will present for 15 minutes each hour, as well as company expositions and networking opportunities for attendees. Food and drink will be provided. The event will be taking place at the Community Beer Company in Dallas, and all participants must be 21 or over to attend.
