WEDNESDAY BREAKFAST FOCUSED ON INVESTING, ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR WOMEN
Ellevate Network strives to #InvestInWomen and close the gender income gap, and Dallas is a part of this movement.
The Dallas chapter of Ellevate Network is hosting a breakfast event Wednesday featuring Ellevate Network chair Sallie Krawcheck and Whitney Johns Martin, co-founder and managing director of Texas Women Ventures Capital Management.
Ellevate Network is a global professional networking community with a mission to help women advance in the workplace.
“Women represent a large part of this community and are eager for opportunities like this, where fearless, high-ranking business leaders like Sallie can inspire and empower them to take the next steps in their careers.” said Alice Chiang, president of the Dallas chapter of Ellevate Network in a release.
Krawcheck will share from her experiences as one of the highest ranking women ever to work on Wall Street. Her positions included CEO of Smith Barney, CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and CFO of Citigroup. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women.
Martin, co-founder and current managing director of Texas Women Ventures, has been a leader in providing private capital to women entrepreneurs since the 1990s. The Dallas-based group of funds is dedicated to supporting women who lead and manage businesses with revenues up to $100 million.
Wednesday’s discussion will cover closing the investing gap for women, inspiring more female entrepreneurs and investors, and the business case for gender equality.
The breakfast event will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Dallas Country Club, 4155 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas.
Ticket prices are $25 for members of Ellevate Network and $35 for non-members. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit ellevatenetwork.com.
