A new study by Upgraded Points looked into which U.S. airports offer the best lounges, and out of 50 airports, North Texas’ own Dallas Fort Worth International Airport ranked No. 4.
The study examined a range of factors including available amenities, dining options, lounge saturation, customer reviews, and operating hours.
The results impact more travelers than ever before, according to Upgraded Points Founder Alex Miller, whose travel points- and rewards-maximizing startup is based in Austin.
“Airport lounges used to be thought of as exclusive places for elite flyers,” Miller said in a statement. “But over the last several years these lounges have become a popular attraction for all types of travelers, particularly those dealing with layovers and flight cancellations.”
DFW Airport travel lounges include the Capital One Lounge (D22), The American Express Centurion Lounge (D18), Plaza Premium Lounge (E31), and USO Center (B47).
The airport also boasts an array of airline clubs such as the American Airlines Admirals Clubs in four terminals. You’ll also find the British Airways Lounge, Delta Sky Club, Emirates Lounge, Korean Air Lounge, Lufthansa Lounge, and QANTAS Business Lounge.

The only airports to beat out DFW in the study were Miami International, LaGuardia Airport (which got its own stunning upgrade via its recent six-year, $8 billion reconstruction), and Los Angeles International Airport.
The study also ranks the best operators of lounges, including airlines and companies like American Express. You can see the full report by going here.
