With more than 10,000 people having attended Dallas Startup Week 2019, The Dallas Entrepreneur Center has decided to move its keystone annual event’s basecamp location to Gilley’s Dallas to support its growth, according to a statement.
“Our post surveys from 2019 said two things very strongly. First, attendees overwhelmingly said how much they enjoyed the event, speakers and topics,” Bill Chin, The DEC Network’s new CEO, said in a statement. “And a very close second was, multiple locations were a hassle and many people missed sessions due to confusion over location. We heard our constituents loud and clear and are very excited to bring together a majority of our events under the iconic Gilley’s location. This gives us plenty of room to continue our growth in serving the entrepreneurs of DFW.”
DSW20 is expected to run from April 26 – May 1, 2020. The goal of Dallas Startup Week is to connect and unite startups, founders, corporate and social innovators, investors, and community leaders through the free weeklong event.
“Though the Gilley’s name and brand was known previously, our business was a startup in many ways back in 2003,” Jay Stewart, the general manager of Gilley’s Dallas, said in a statement. “We strive to innovate and reinvent our structure with our unique spaces and events year after year.”
DSW19’s lineup of speakers included Mark Cuban, Craig Hall, and Rent My Wardrobe founder Rachel Sipperley, among many others. For more information on Dallas Startup Week, go here.
With multiple hubs across DFW, The DEC’s mission is to help entrepreneurs start, build, and grow their businesses.
