Dallas InsurTech Platform Bestow Hires Chief Product Officer, 2 New VP’s

Bestow said its hiring of CPO David Malenoir-Evans and VPs Doug Brewster and Pete Schiller reinforces its ability to "unlock digital transformation and growth across the life insurance industry."

Dallas-based insurance technology platform Bestow has hired three new executives who the company said will help drive its next growth phase.

Bestow said the three leaders reinforce its ability “to unlock digital transformation and growth across the life insurance industry.”

In 2023, Bestow was ranked No. 1 by Forbes in its inaugural list of Best Life Insurance Companies in the U.S. In 2024, the company won an Innovation Award from Dallas Innovates and D CEO in the category of Fintech and Insurance.

David Malenoir-Evans has joined Bestow as its chief product officer, responsible for product strategy and execution. The company said he has a successful track record scaling products and platforms across AI, SaaS, and fintech while holding senior roles at MetaMap, Procore, and Dataminr.

Malenoir-Evans will focus on enhancing the company’s integrated technology platform, designed to modernize the life insurance industry by replacing outdated, fragmented systems.

Doug Brewster joins Bestow as vice president of finance, where he will oversee financial strategy and operations. Before Bestow, Brewster was a key leader on the finance teams at Tecton, Confluent, and Okta and brings a wealth of experience scaling best-in-class SaaS companies across growth and IPO stages, Bestow said.

Pete Schiller is Bestow’s new vice president of TPA Services, driving the next generation of insurance operations and administration capabilities for numerous Tier-1 life insurance carriers, Bestow said. He has an extensive background in sales, QA, and customer service performance. Under Schiller’s leadership, Bestow said the team is focused on improving automation and self-service to drive a more efficient user experience that exceeds industry norms.

“David, Doug, and Pete are not just skilled leaders; they are builders who align closely with Bestow’s culture and team,” Jonathan Abelmann, president and co-founder of Bestow, said in a statement. “They have started laying the groundwork for ongoing innovation as we expedite product launches. I am confident their leadership will help Bestow and our carrier partners transform the insurance industry.”

Bestow said its solutions empower insurers to achieve growth and profitability at “unparalleled speed.”
