DART Begins Rolling Its First Long-Range Electric Bus Service

Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s first long-range electric bus has begun regular service, with an almost 300-mile range—longer than many private electric vehicles now buzzing around Dallas streets. The 40-foot-long Proterra ZX5 Max achieves that by having six lithium-ion battery packs: four mounted under the bus, and two on the roof.

$32M Pegasus Park ‘Bridge Labs’ Expansion to Get Start Next Month

Last month we told you about Bridge Labs, a $32 million, 135,000-square-foot lab and office expansion that was potentially coming to the Biotech+ Hub at Pegasus Park. Planning documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation now show that potential will become reality next month, when construction on the project is slated to begin. According to marketing materials, Bridge Labs will offer “best-in-class” purpose-built shell lab space plus spec suites ranging from 4,526 square feet to 7,722 square feet.

Dallas-based Major League Rugby is looking to raise $100 million to fuel its growth, according to a Bloomberg report. Nic Benson, the league's CEO, "is working with an advisor" on the $100 million raise, Bloomberg added. The league has 12 teams in the U.S. and Canada, including the Dallas Jackals, who had their inaugural season in 2022 and play their home games in Arlington's Chowtaw Stadium, the former home of the Texas Rangers.

Frisco City Council Approves Zoning for Universal Studios Theme Park

The Frisco City Council voted Tuesday to approve the zoning permit for a Universal Studios theme park and adjacent 300-room hotel, despite pushback from some in the community about the park's potential impact on traffic and other concerns. "Welcome to Frisco," Mayor Jeff Cheney said after the vote, according to WFAA, which noted that Frisco estimates the project will bring $1.8 billion in economic impact to the city.
