7-Eleven, Inc. has received a newly granted patent for "Detecting and Identifying Misplaced Items Using a Sensor Array," invented by Plano-based Deepanjan Paul, Irving-based Sailesh Bharathwaaj Krishnamurthy and Sarath Vakacharla, and Celina-based Shahmeer Ali Mirza. The patent describes a system that uses sensors and a tracking system to monitor store shelves, detect misplaced items, and update digital carts in real time.
