Dallas’ Apex Fintech Solutions Files for IPO In Its Second Go-Public Bid

Two years after attempting to go public via a SPAC merger that valued it at $4.7 billion post-money, Apex is looking to do it the old-fashioned way with a direct SEC filing. The "fintech for fintechs" has more than 220 clients with over $115 billion in assets under custody, with 21 million brokerage accounts and active investors in 144 countries.

According to a new report from the Brookings Institution, since the pandemic hit in 2020, a "reorientation" has occurred in U.S. tech jobs growth, with growth in share of national digital services jobs moving from "Big Tech meccas" to "vibrant rising star" metros like Dallas-Fort Worth.

The Trinity Park Conservancy unveiled plans last week for the $325 million Harold Simmons Park—a 250-acre park along a stretch of the Trinity River close to downtown. Named after the late billionaire businessman whose wife, Annette Simmons, donated $50 million for the park in 2016—it will be located between the Margaret McDermott Bridge and Ronald Kirk Bridge just west of downtown Dallas.
