Veteran technology leader Gayatri Narayan has been appointed to the newly created role of president, technology and digital solutions at Irving-based Builders FirstSource Inc.
She will report to CEO Peter Jackson, who was named the company’s next chief executive last summer as part of a planned succession and officially stepped into the role in November 2024.
Jackson said Builders FirstSource aims to strengthen its digital and technical capabilities to create more value for customers.
He said Narayan’s experience driving growth through technology will help advance the company’s digital strategy and support its long-term success.
In her new role, she will be responsible for the continued development and delivery of innovative digital products, as well as launching digitally enabled business models. She will also lead the company’s Paradigm subsidiary, which provides digital solutions and services for the building products industry.
Narayan brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience, the company said.
She comes to Builders FirstSource from PepsiCo, where she led digital product development across frontline sales, manufacturing, and revenue management. Before PepsiCo, Narayan was general manager at Microsoft, responsible for Enterprise Digital Solutions in Communications and Conversational AI. She also spent more than six years at Amazon in various leadership roles improving profitability, global expansion, and market share growth across multiple retail categories, leveraging technology and digitally enabled business models.
Tim Page, who most recently served as executive vice president of digital solutions, will remain with the company in a strategic project management role, the company said. He will work closely with Narayan to ensure a seamless transition.
Builders FirstSource is the largest U.S. supplier of building products, prefabricated components, and value-added services to the professional market segment for new residential construction and repair and remodeling.
The company operates in 43 states with roughly 595 locations and have a market presence in 48 of the top 50 and 92 of the top 100 MSAs, providing geographic diversity and balanced end market exposure.
