As the President of the Financial Services Division within Capital One, Sanjiv Yajnik is responsible for consumer lending outside of credit cards. Throughout his tenure, this has included Auto Finance, Mortgage, Home Equity and Installment Loans. In Sanjiv’s time as President, Capital One’s Auto Finance division has turned around to become one of the largest auto lenders in the nation.

Sanjiv is also the president of Capital One National Association (‘CONA’), one of Capital One’s two national bank subsidiaries.

In addition, Sanjiv oversees Capital One’s community relations throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana as President of the company’s South-Central Region.

He also serves as Chairman of the Collin County Business Alliance (CCBA), an organization he helped create. The CCBA is a group of business leaders who have come together to address issues facing Collin County, Texas, and ensure vibrant businesses contribute to vibrant communities.

In November 2015, Sanjiv was appointed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to be Chairman of the Texas Economic Development Corporation. The corporation supports programs and activities of the Governor’s Division of Economic Development and Tourism, including TexasOne, which markets Texas competitively and dynamically to businesses outside the state of Texas.

Sanjiv also serves as Chairman of the Dallas Symphony Association Board of Governors.

In addition to his local community outreach and involvement, Sanjiv is on the board and serves as Treasurer for the National Academy Foundation, an organization dedicated to preparing young people for college and career success.

He is also the co-Chair for the Indian American Professionals Network for the State of Texas.

Sanjiv joined Capital One in 1998 and previously served as the President of Capital One Auto Finance, succeeding his role as the Executive Vice President and Principal Managing Director of Capital One Europe, a role in which he was responsible for the strategic direction, marketing, operations, and financial performance of the company’s European segment.

Prior to his role with Capital One Europe, Sanjiv led
Capital One’s Small Business Services line of business and Capital One Canada. His teams grew those businesses significantly during his leadership tenure to position Capital One as one of the largest small business lenders in the U.S., and as a leading credit card business in Canada. Prior to this, he served as Director of Credit Risk Management for Capital One.

Sanjiv has had invaluable retail experience working for PepsiCo, one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies, and for Circuit City, a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation’s leading providers of consumer electronics. He has also had broad international experience as Chief Engineer in Mobil Oil Corporation’s shipping business.

Sanjiv completed the Executive Management Program from Stanford University in 2003. He received his MBA with honors (Dean’s list) from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, in 1992. Sanjiv is a medalist Chartered Engineer (I) and graduated with distinction from the Marine Engineering Research Institute, India.
