Irving-based Atos North America is teaming up with cloud-communication solution provider RingCentral to launch the first release of Unify Office in the U.S.
Essentially a virtual workplace, the partners’ co-branded Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) solution helps teams stay connected via multiple methods of communication in a single place. Atos says Unify Office offers an “intuitive, unified experience that lets you message, video, and phone wherever you are.”
Unify Office combines RingCentral’s leading UCaaS product with Atos’ deep system integrator capabilities to create a single deeply integrated and managed digital workplace that users need to be competitive, Oliver Coste, head of Unified Communications at Atos North America, said in a statement.
Atos, a French multinational information technology services and consulting giant and RingCentral entered a relationship early last year when RingCentral was announced as Atos’ preferred provider of UCaaS solutions. RingCentral, headquartered in California, offers cloud communications, collaboration, video meetings, and contact center solutions.
In February 2020, the two companies joined forces in a strategic partnership to introduce a co-branded UCaaS solution that would be developed as a key part of Atos’ Digital Workplace solutions portfolio.
RingCentral and Atos then announced their co-branded solution in July: Unify Office by RingCentral.
Unify Office became the exclusive UCaaS offering for the 40 million user-installed base of the Atos Unify product family—the name for remote, distributed work offerings from Atos group. Atos said it would give customers access to leading solutions across all of its Unified Communications categories.
In 2016, Atos acquired Unify, formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications. With the strategic RingCentral partnership, Atos became a customer of Unify Office and began to deploy Unify Office for Atos UCC, formerly the Unify Division.
“Atos has a rich history of delivering leading-edge communication and collaboration platforms in North America,” Oliver Coste, head of Unified Communications at Atos North America, said in a statement. “Since the days of ROLM, Atos Unify solutions have supported a wide variety of customers, from the federal government, states and municipalities to manufacturers, hospitals, utilities, and more.”
Atos announced in December that it was deploying Unify Office by RingCentral to its more than 30,000 workers in more than 20 countries. At the time, the company said Unify Office by RingCentral was going to start being integrated by direct routing into Atos’ Microsoft Teams digital workplace to provide a “seamless single pane of glass” for both internal and external communication.
Now, the enterprise solution is being brought to the U.S.
“At RingCentral, we’re focused on bringing the benefits of cloud communications to businesses everywhere,” Anand Eswaran, RingCentral’s president and COO, said in a statement. “With Atos Unify now available in the US, more of Atos’ customers will have access to a single, secure, and trusted business communications solution with integrated team messaging, video meetings, and an enterprise cloud phone system, enabling people and teams to be productive and efficient.”
Both companies laud the technology’s seamless migration and simplicity. Customers are able to migrate (at their own pace) from traditional systems to Unify Office and integrate it with existing business applications when using Salesforce, Microsoft, or Google productivity suites.
“Customers seek communication and collaboration solutions that interact with their preferred business applications and provide future-proofed capabilities for businesses of all sizes,” Coste said in a statement. “With Unify Office customers can leverage the unique combination of message, video, and enterprise phone system capabilities together in a single application.”
