AMN Healthcare Adds Former Baylor Scott & White Health CEO to Board of Directors

AMN Healthcare (NYSE: AMN), a leader in healthcare workforce talent solutions, announced the appointment of Jim Hinton to its board of directors, effective July 22. Hinton, a healthcare veteran with extensive leadership, governance, and operational experience, joins the board amid the company’s continued focus on expanding its strategic initiatives.

Hinton brings a wealth of experience to AMN Healthcare, according to the company. He currently serves as an operating partner on the healthcare team of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. His previous roles include chief executive officer of Baylor Scott & White Health, Texas’s largest not-for-profit healthcare system, and CEO and president of Presbyterian Health Services in New Mexico, where he served for 21 years.

“Jim’s experience in leading major health systems with a focus on operational excellence and clinician engagement will be invaluable,” Cary Grace, president and CEO of AMN Healthcare, said in a statement. “His insights will enhance our strategic vision to deliver comprehensive talent solutions that enable high-quality, flexible, and cost-effective workforces.”

In addition to his executive roles, Hinton has a significant boardroom presence. He serves on the board of McKesson Corporation and is a member of its finance and compensation and talent committees. He is also the chair of Health Management Academy and has previously served as chairman of the board of trustees for the American Hospital Association.

Hinton looks forward to leveraging his extensive experience to help AMN Healthcare navigate the evolving healthcare landscape. “AMN strives to improve healthcare through innovative technology and workforce solutions,” he said in the announcement. “I am excited to join the board and contribute to the company’s growth and impact in the healthcare industry.”
