ALLCITY Network Launches DLLS in Dallas with YouTube- and Podcast-Based Sports Coverage

A week after announcing a $12 million Series B funding round, Denver-based ALLCITY Network has launched its DLLS outlet in Dallas. Helmed by local NBA insider Marc Stein, DLLS will offer daily weekday shows covering the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, Rangers, and more on YouTube and podcast platforms.

Denver-Based ALLCITY Network launched in Dallas today with its local digital sports coverage outlet, DLLS. Led locally by NBA insider Marc Stein, the service will offer daily shows five times a week covering the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers.

Shows will stream Monday through Friday on the DLLS YouTube page and across podcast platforms like Apple and Spotify.

ALLCITY says it’s “reimagining” local sports coverage by delivering daily, team-specific shows across streaming video, podcast, and other digital platforms. Dallas is the company’s fifth market following its 2019 launch in Denver and subsequent launches in Phoenix, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

“Dallas has been our top-rated market by all metrics since we began accumulating market data back in 2019.” ALLCITY CEO Brandon Spano said in a statement. “The level of talent here is unmatched and there may not be a group of fans with a larger appetite for sports coverage,” Spano explained. “We now enter Dallas with more momentum than we’ve ever had and after assembling such a special group in the DFW area, we’re convinced that this market will set a new standard for what local sports coverage can look like in America.”

DLLS’s local team

Stein—the longtime ESPN broadcaster and New York Times writer—will helm a DLLS team featuring talent from Mavs.com, The Athletic, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Stars, and local sports radio stations, ALLCITY said.

According to sports media website Awful Announcing, DLLS has snagged Dallas Mavericks writer Tim Cato from The Athletic and pulled in Bobby Karalla from Mavs.com—and will get further Mavs coverage from Dallas sports radio host Kevin Gray and Cowboys coverage from Jeff Cavanaugh (both formerly of 105.3 The Fan and 97.1 The Freak).

Covering other local and Texas teams, too

ALLCITY said DLLS will also include weekly coverage of other DFW teams, including the Dallas Wings and TCU Horned Frogs, and added that  Texas Longhorns coverage will be coming soon.

Like ALLCITY’s other city outlets, DLLS aims to fill a void of daily local sports content “left by the decline of legacy radio, the RSN model, and other media,” the company said. It plans to do this in Dallas by offering tailored content to sports fans through a mix of news, entertainment, community-driven programming, and “on-the-ground events,” all curated by a team of local experts.

DLLS is launching with sponsor support from Sleeper, Gametime Tickets, Shady Rays, and Empire Today, ALLCITY said.

Recently raised $12M Series B round

Last week, ALLCITY announced it had raised a Series B funding round led by broadcast media company TEGNA (NYSE: TGNA). According to multiple reports, the Series B pulled in $12 million, which is nearly half of the $25 million ALLCITY reports raising to date.
