Tech.Co is asking its readers to name their favorite startup in its South region — Central Texas, excluding Austin — in an online Reader’s Choice Poll.

The list of startups on the ballot includes 18 from the Dallas-Fort Worth region, and the poll will help Tech.Co in the selection of the top 100 startup semifinalists that will compete for cash, prizes, and more Oct. 9-11 at the Innovate! and Celebrate conference in San Francisco.

You’ll need to hurry, though, as the deadline for casting your vote is Wednesday. You can cast your ballot at Tech.Co‘s website.

Startups from Houston and San Antonio also are on the ballot.

Here are the DFW companies:

Tech.Co (formerly Tech Cocktail) is a media, community, and events organization for entrepreneurs, creatives, and technology enthusiasts, according to its website.

It was co-founded in 2006 by Frank Gruber, a former Tribune and AOL product strategist, longtime tech blogger, and new media pioneer, and Eric Olson, an early Feedburner employee.

They created the company as a way to amplify the Chicago tech startup scene.

Tech.Co became a full-fledged media company in 2010, after Olson moved on to become a venture capitalist. Gruber then teamed up with expert technology producer and longtime AOL employee Jen Consalvo to reinvent the Tech Cocktail as Tech.Co.

It’s global Startup of the Year competition kicks off each November and leads to the three-day Innovate! and Celebrate Conference. Last fall, Dallas-based ShearShare beat out nearly 1,000 other early-stage businesses to win Tech.Co‘s annual Startup of the Year Competition
