Zimperium has named Alistaire Davidson its new chief financial officer, adding a seasoned software finance leader at a time when the Dallas-based company says demand for mobile security continues to rise worldwide.
CEO Shridhar Mittal said Davidson’s experience scaling global software organizations makes him a strong addition to the company’s leadership team. In a statement, he added that the new CFO’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding Zimperium through its next phase of growth.
With more than 20 years of finance leadership experience across private equity–backed and public software companies, Davidson will oversee financial strategy, planning, operations, and performance management to support Zimperium’s continued expansion across global markets, the company said.
Most recently, Davidson served as regional CFO, Americas at The Access Group, where he led the post-acquisition integration of two strategic business units, according to Zimperium. Previously, Davidson held several finance leadership roles of increasing responsibility at AVEVA, supporting the company’s SaaS transition across the Americas and driving a global services transformation that delivered significant margin improvements.
Zimperium—founded in 2010 and backed by Liberty Strategic Capital and SoftBank—builds AI-driven mobile security products used by enterprises, government agencies, and organizations that rely heavily on mobile applications. Its platform pairs on-device threat detection with application protection tools to address mobile phishing (or “mishing”), malware, app vulnerabilities, device compromise, and zero-day exploits.
As mobile attacks grow more sophisticated, Zimperium was named Mobile Security Solution of the Year at the 2025 Mobile Breakthrough Awards and recognized as a leader in the Forrester Wave for Mobile Threat Defense in late 2024. The company also launched an integration with CrowdStrike Falcon to help security teams unify endpoint visibility.
The company says its products use autonomous, AI-driven detection to help organizations stay ahead of rapidly evolving threats. Its threat research team has issued several warnings this year, including alerts on mobile malware hidden in dating apps and a rise in travel-related mobile scams.
In February, Zimperium reported a record-breaking fiscal year 2025, noting “double-digit overall growth” and said it signed a record number of new customers—including Microsoft; two major airlines; two global automakers; a dozen banking institutions across the Asia Pacific region; one of the world’s largest oil producers; and one of Latin America’s largest retailers.
