Reme Miah has been named the new director of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) outreach by Richardson-based Tech Titans, the largest technology trade association in Texas.
“Our STEM program plays a crucial role in shaping students’ career paths, and it wouldn’t be possible without a dedicated group of Tech Titans members who give their time and financial backing to make it happen,” Paul Bendel, executive director at Tech Titans, said in a statement. “Reme is the perfect fit to lead the program. Her influence will resonate throughout the organization and beyond, inspiring the next generation of scientists and fostering groundbreaking collaborations.”
Tech Titans said Miah is a results-driven marketing leader with a proven track record in the technology sector, and consistently has delivered impactful marketing strategies and campaigns. In her new role, she’ll be responsible for elevating and coordinating opportunities to further build a STEM pipeline between students and North Texas companies.
“By fostering connections between students and industry leaders, we can empower the next generation to embrace the endless possibilities that STEM careers offer,” Miah said. “I’m committed to building upon the foundation laid by Tech Titans and expanding the reach and impact of their STEM initiatives.”
Tech Titans said that in the 2023-2024 academic year, its STEM initiatives delivered inspirational experiences to roughly 6,000 students in North Texas through panels, speed mentoring, facility tours, virtual engagements, and interactive engineering design challenges.
“This program is personal to me,” Marvin Harris Jr., vice chair of STEM for Tech Titans and engineering senior manager of Qorvo, said in a statement. “When I was a young student, it was a STEM program that prompted me to consider a technology career. We strongly encourage the tech community to join our efforts through volunteerism and funding.”
