TechFW’s 2023 Impact Showcase embodied “the spirit of innovation, the essence of progress, and the promise of a better tomorrow” at Dickies Arena’s Simmons Bank Pavilion Thursday in Fort Worth, Wucinski wrote on LinkedIn.
Celebrating its 25th year, TechFW is a nonprofit startup accelerator, business incubator, and entrepreneur community that’s been helping entrepreneurs launch and grow emerging companies since 1998. Attendees at the showcase had the opportunity to meet 35 exhibiting tech companies and talk with founders, researchers, and investors.
The night’s big winner? Fort Worth-based Cx Precision Medicine, which won the 2023 Impact Award. Shown with the award in the photo above are the company’s CFO Darlene Boudreaux, CEO Danguole Altman, and Carol Berry.
The Cx team is developing a novel plan that can simplify the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s. Its technology “takes the guesswork out of initial diagnoses and represents a paradigm shift away from one-size-fits-all treatments by recognizing differences among patients based on their genetics, environment, and lifestyle,” the company says.
“We’re thrilled to be working to change expectations for those suffering neurodegenerative diseases,” Cx Precision CEO Danguole Altman said at the event. “And we’re very honored to be recognized.”
TechFW Executive Director Hayden Blackburn offered his congratulations to Cx and “the other outstanding companies and partners” honored at the event.
“The Impact Showcase and Awards is a wonderful opportunity to invite the community to see the impactful work tech companies in our community are making in their respective industries,” Blackburn said in a statement. “It’s too important not to share.”
AyuVis Research and Memsel were finalists for the event’s 2023 Impact Award.
The 2023 Legacy Award was given posthumously to David Chappell for decades of impact on the innovation community. He was part of the committee to start TechFW, a longtime advisor, and longtime Cowtown Angels member. His son, Wade Chappell, and daughter, Paige Prichett, and family, were on hand at the showcase to receive the award.
Other awards and recipients at the event included:
