Inspire Frisco is hosting nine Dallas-Fort Worth-based universities along with three others from Texas for a one-day technology exchange event Wednesday at the UNT Inspire Park in Frisco.

Through USpinX, Inspire Frisco is hoping to provide a “collision space” for universities, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and companies to connect.

Due to the magnitude of universities that all perform their own research, USpinX is trying to make it easier for interested parties to find a multitude of inventions, patents, and software in one place, which can save time and resources for everyone involved.

At USpinX, each university will have it’s own table, while companies can also request tables if they would rather have the universities approach them. Over the course of the free three-hour event, attendees will also have room to privately network if they so choose.

The University of North Texas is the host university with other attending North Texas universities including Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas Health Science Center, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Texas Christian University, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, and Texas Woman’s University.

Representatives from Texas Tech University, Baylor University, and Texas State University will attend.

After the event is over, guests can stay for Inspire Frisco’s monthly speaker series called Inspire Frisco Talk where discussions about technology will be continued and focus on technology transfer.

Inspire Frisco calls itself an “innovation ecosystem” with a mission to support regional entrepreneurs. With its available network of advisers and mentors, peer collaboration, and support, Inspire Frisco notes it’s there to help regional ventures associated with innovation and entrepreneurship.
