GDC Technics Announces Ka Connectivity Services For Commercial Airlines In North America
GDC’s new communications platform for aircraft “introduces a new standard for cabin performance in terms of throughput and more resilient connections,” according to a release. For airline customers, the offering ‘future proofs’ aircraft for years ahead and offers flexible service provider solutions that are not available today,” said Stephen Rice, VP of North American Sales for GDC.
The solution is a collaboration with a range of global industry innovators including Kontron, ThinKom, and Cloudcast. GDC Technics is an industry leader in aircraft engineering, modification and completion services with multiple worldwide locations across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In February, the company announced a new “ownership structure and shared strategic vision with new partners Oriole Capital Group, Trive Capital and MAZ Aviation.” With the new CEO and owners, “the Fort Worth company delivered two Boeing 787 jets to a confidential head of state customer” in May, reported the Dallas Business Journal.

Propark Mobility Taps ParkHub for High-Profile Launch [Yahoo! Finance]
The technology of Dallas-based ParkHub has been chosen by Connecticut-based Propark Mobility to use when the $1.4 billion, 18,000-seat Chase Center opens on Sept. 6 in San Francisco. Chase Center is the new home of the Golden State Warriors of the NBA.
“We’re excited to begin operations at Chase Center, and we are looking forward to utilizing the convenience of ParkHub’s mobile payment solutions to help enrich the guest experience at this world-class entertainment complex,” Luis Garcia, Propark’s senior vice president, said in a statement.
National Life Group Extends Strategic Partnership with NTT Data [Insurance Innovation Reporter]
National Life Group has announced a five-year extension of its partnership with Plano-based global IT services provider NTT Data. National Life is a fast-growing U.S. life insurance company, headquartered in Vermont.
“NTT DATA has been integral in helping us establish solutions for our customers and employees over the last 15 years, and we look forward to a continued relationship that brings peace of mind and helps deliver our promises to our customers,” Nimesh Mehta, senior vice president and CIO at National Life, said in a statement.
Colliers adds Dallas appraisal firm to bolster valuation and advisory practice [DBJ]
The acquisition of Dallas-based valuation firm Deverick and Associates Inc. by Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services, part of Colliers International Group Inc., is expected to be a key element to Colliers’ growth in Texas’ multifamily sector, especially with government-sponsored enterprises such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
Brinker closes on 116-unit Chili’s deal [Restaurant Business Online]
Brinker International Inc. has completed the acquisition of 116 Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants from its 14-year franchisee, according to Restaurant Business Online. Mostly located in the Midwest, the Dallas-based casual dining restaurant company generates approximately $300 million of annualized revenue.

Digital Marketing Institute, a digital marketing professional learning and certification that’s based in Dallas, and the IAB, the national trade association for the digital media and marketing industries, announced a new partnership that extends and enhances the learning and certification opportunities of its members and learners.
Tyler Technologies partners on in-vehicle tablets for school transportation [Education Dive]
Plano-based Tyler Technologies Inc. announced a new partnership and pilot program with First Student, a provider of school transportation in North America, to equip its school buses with a custom version of Tyler’s industry-leading tablet software Tyler Drive. First Student runs the fourth largest fleet in North America, with 42,000 buses serving 1,100 school districts. The platform scales to a large customer base and addresses First Student’s operational, reporting, and data analytics needs.
7-Eleven empowers workforce with Microsoft technology [The Record]
Irving-based 7-Eleven, Inc. is providing its field employees with Microsoft Surface devices complete with Microsoft 365 and Power BI to better connect them with the convenience store giant’s headquarters. The company expects to provide better corporate insights to franchisees concerning how their stores are performing, purchasing trends, and other data to help their businesses grow.
