3 Things: High-tech Salaries Go Further in Dallas

A new study looked at high-tech salaries across the U.S., and Dallas did very well; AT&T is leading the charge against robocalls, and UberEATS makes its debut in Fort Worth.

A new report shows that salaries earned in tech jobs in Dallas goes further than most places. The report from the jobs site Indeed’s research branch, Hiring Lab, show that Dallas ranked fifth out of 15 ranked cities in adjusted cost of living at $88,717. The site said that Dallas has the highest adjusted salary for devops engineers at $103,161. You can find out more here at CultureMap Dallas.

AT&T Inc. CEO Randall Stephenson is leading an effort by the Federal Communications Commission to stop robocalls. AT&T is joining 33 companies in total, including Apple, Ericsson, Verizon, and Google. The FCC is targeting robocalls, which beyond annoying, can be used by scammers to target victims for their private information and money. The Dallas Business Journal has more here.

Starting today, people on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth will be able to use the UberEATS service for food deliver. Uber will expand the service inside Interstate Loop 820’s boundaries in Fort Worth on Aug. 29, according to the Fort Worth Business Press. UberEATS made its debut in Dallas in March.
