ECI—which has offices in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the U.K., The Netherlands, and Australia—said the acquisition enhances its manufacturing software portfolio and further solidifies its commitment to supporting businesses within the industry.

ECI Software Solutions, a Westlake-based provider of cloud-based business management software and services, has acquired ProfitKey International, an ERP (enterprise resource planning) platform for discrete manufacturers based in Salem, New Hampshire.

ECI said the strategic acquisition enhances its manufacturing software portfolio and further solidifies its commitment to supporting businesses within the industry.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Trevor Gruenewald, CEO of ECI Software Solutions, said that he and his team are thrilled to welcome ProfitKey and its customers to the ECI family.

“By joining together, we can continue to invest in the success of manufacturing businesses and their evolving industry needs,” Gruenewald said in a statement. “Our goal is to provide even greater value to manufacturing businesses and ensure a bright future for all our customers.”

ECI said that for more than 25 years, it has been at the forefront of delivering high-value, industry-specific software solutions designed to help small- to medium-sized businesses worldwide manage their operations efficiently and grow profitably.

Benefits to investors, customers, and employees

“I’m very excited about this news and the great value it will provide to all the ProfitKey stakeholders,” ProfitKey CEO Kevin O’Keefe said in a statement. “Our investors are receiving a fair return on their capital while our customers are benefiting from the additional resources that ECI brings to their long-term success.”

ECI said that ProfitKey’s team will be joining its manufacturing division, the company’s largest business unit, and that the transition will be seamless, with the software, support, and processes that their customers have come to know and trust remaining the same.

O’Keefe said that team members will benefit from the partnership.

“ProfitKey’s employees will realize greater opportunities for career and personal growth by joining a larger, global organization like ECI,” he said.

ECI provides cloud-based business software for running small and mid-sized businesses end to end and was built by experts in manufacturing, residential construction, service management, building supply, office technology and wholesale/retail distribution industries.

Its industry-specific software connects businesses and customers, ECI said, improving visibility, operational efficiency and profitability, helping businesses seamlessly integrate sales and marketing, business intelligence, CRM, data and analytics, ecommerce, mobile apps and payment processing,
