UK-based third-party logistics provider Speedy Freight has opened its first U.S. office in Dallas. The office will cater to all third-party requirements such as full truckloads, less-than truckloads, drayage, expedited shipping, and cross-border operations.
The company said it chose Dallas for its inaugural U.S. expansion for its size, central location, and high level of commercial activity.
“This is a massive milestone for Speedy Freight, and we see a huge opportunity in North America for future expansion,” CEO Mike Smith said in a statement. “Our franchising model is perfectly suited to the U.S. business landscape, and we’re confident that this is just the first of many USA offices.”
Starr Bollefer, who joined the company as vice president of sales in March, is leading the U.S. sales division in Dallas.
Leveraging ‘cutting-edge in-house-developed technology’
Speedy Freight said its dedicated team is equipped to handle specific freight and fulfillment requirements with “cutting edge in-house-developed technology.”
Speedy Freight said that it prioritizes quality assurance and reliability and has the expertise to fine tune logistics plans, regardless of industry, from fast-moving consumer goods and high-volume tradeshows to time-sensitive healthcare commodities.
The company offers inventory and supply chain management for businesses of all sizes, with “user-friendly technology seamlessly integrating with online stores,” ensuring “hassle-free” operation and comprehensive stock management, as well as warehousing capacity and cross dock ability.
U.S. expansion ‘has always been a goal’
Speedy Freight said its U.S. expansion comes after its recent European Union growth, with locations opening in Dublin, Ireland, and Spain in recent years.
The company said its in-house developed transportation and warehousing management system is universal, handling job management by providing status updates and customer access via an online portal.
“Expansion to the USA has always been a goal for the business, and thanks to our outstanding year on year growth, we feel now is the perfect time to open our first North American branch,” COO John Munnelly said in a statement. “The high level of commercial activity in and around Dallas-Fort Worth makes it the perfect location for Speedy Freight, and we’re confident our team will hit the ground running with their personalized logistics service offerings.”
Founded in 2006, Speedy Freight has grown from a single regional office in 2009 to cover every postcode in the United Kingdom, with more than 60 branches across the U.K. and Europe.
Speedy Freight has nearly 10,000 customers across the U.K. and in mainland Europe, with major contracts in multiple industries, the company said.
