At the annual Fort Worth Chamber Economic Impact Forum at the Kimbell Art Museum, EY trade expert Shane Williams told attendees that the old “wait it out” approach to tariffs no longer works, according to the DMN. With import taxes still affecting nearly half of all U.S. goods, Williams said local firms are reassessing how to manage costs tied to duties.
He was joined by Joshua Griffith and JR Holcomb of Hillwood in a discussion that included the potential role of Foreign Trade Zones, such as the one Hillwood operates at AllianceTexas.
“Think of it like an insurance policy, when the trade is fluctuating each and every day, each and every week,” Griffith said, the publication reported.
