“It’s like the Bermuda Triangle of shoes.”

.…on the newly launched Sneex shoe line from Spanx Founder Sara Blakely, via the Wall Street Journal.
Sara Blakely founded Spanx shapewear in 2000, achieving the perfect fit for a massive success. In August—three years after Blackstone acquired a majority stake in Spanx, valuing the company at $1.2 billion—Blakely launched her next big idea: Sneex—a $500-plus luxury shoe line that mashes up high heels with sneakers. Reviews have been decidedly mixed, the Wall Street Journal reports—and it reached out to Dallas-based personal stylist Molly Hudson to help explain why.
Calling it “the shoe no one asked for,” Hudson told the WSJ’s Rory Satran that while she’s a fan of Spanx, Sneex is a no go.
“It’s like the Bermuda Triangle of shoes: What’s happening? What’s going on?” Hudson said. “We want a pretty shoe, not a sneaker with a heel.”
Also weighing in was Dallas-based Olivia Chapman, who operates an executive coaching school for women.
“I thought it was April fools,” Chapman told the WSJ of her first exposure to Sneex. “I don’t know how else to say it, but it is so unattractive.”
