United Regions Van Lines, a leading U.S. long-distance moving service provider, has released its research findings on the 10 Fastest Growing and Cheapest States in America for 2023. And the Lone Star State tops the list.
United says its “comprehensive analysis” is designed to help families and individuals make informed decisions when considering relocations for better job opportunities and affordable living. To arrive at the rankings, it looked at a combination of job growth and cost of living.
Texas snags No. 1 on the list
“Topping the list for job growth and ranking tenth in affordability, Texas has a flourishing economy fueled by technology, energy, and healthcare,” the report says. “With a living wage of $91,949 and housing and childcare expenses at $14,544 and $15,140, respectively, major cities like Austin, Dallas, and Houston provide diverse employment opportunities.”
Rounding out the list in order from No. 2 to No. 10 are Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, South Dakota, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Ohio.
