Tenet Healthcare Taps Industry Financial Veteran as New EVP/Chief Financial Officer

The move is part of the company’s planned chief financial officer transition. Park will serve as an EVP from July 11 through Dec. 31, the company said. As previously announced, Dan Cancelmi, executive vice president & chief financial officer, will retire at year's end. Park will succeed Cancelmi and report to Tenet CEO Saum Sutaria, M.D.

Sun Park has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp., effective Jan. 1.

The move is part of the company’s planned chief financial officer transition. Park will serve as an EVP from July 11 through Dec. 31, the company said.

As previously announced, Dan Cancelmi, executive vice president & chief financial officer, will retire at year’s end. Park will succeed Cancelmi and report to Tenet CEO Saum Sutaria, M.D.

Park is an experienced healthcare executive with a track record of driving results, Tenet said. Park has strong leadership experience in corporate finance, operational finance, strategy, and corporate development.

Most recently, he was executive vice president and group chief financial officer for pharmaceutical distribution and strategic global sourcing at AmerisourceBergen.

In that role since 2018, Park most recently was responsible for commercial and operational finance for all of AmerisourceBergen’s global business units, representing more than $240 billion in annual revenues and serving healthcare providers, manufacturers, and patients.

Before joining AmerisourceBergen in 2012 to lead strategy and development, Park held progressive leadership roles at several global biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Tenet said.

Park will lead all aspects of Tenet’s finance function including financial planning & analysis, accounting, SEC reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, government programs, and investor relations.
