Three days down and less than two to go in the second edition of Techweek Dallas, but there’s still plenty of events left to attend.
If you didn’t make it out to Addison last night for the What’s the Buzz? event here’s a recap of one of the sessions:
Machine learning is changing our world and prevalent across industries.
“The holy grail of machine learning is unsupervised learning.”
Sravan Ankara
“The holy grail of machine learning is unsupervised learning,” said Sravan Ankara, president and founder Divergence Academy. “I don’t know what I’m looking for I’m just going to throw data at it and let some patterns show up and that’s called unsupervised learning.”
Ankara’s company offers data science and cybersecurity training for individuals and companies wanting to get up-to-speed on 21st century skills.
He said data can be harnessed to train robots and create interactive simulations for training workers in warehouses.
“Wouldn’t it be great if we created an application with augmented reality to simulate a warehouse for these people in warehouses?” Ankara proposed.
Other topics covered last night included cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, and more.
Thursday started early with a networking breakfast for women in technology to discuss ways to navigate and have a voice in a male-dominated field.
Following the event, people filed into the Moody Performance Hall to kick off the Growth Summit, which has included a wealth of insights from founders and CEOs about developing businesses. Sessions wrap up there around 5 p.m. Then, things switch over to Richardson with a 7 p.m. session on the future of virtual reality at the University of Texas at Dallas.
