When electronic health record giant Epic unveiled sweeping AI plans last week, it triggered what Dallas’ Calvin Carter calls a “right now crisis” for the rest of the industry. But Carter—best known for founding Bottle Rocket and exiting to WPP—was already ahead of the curve. Four months ago, he acquired and relocated AI healthcare startup Scribematic. Now, the company has launched Matic Inside: embedded AI built to help smaller EHR vendors compete.
