The Dallas Foundation Funds Innovative Scholarship Program to Address Teacher Shortage

The new program, Corps Member Pathway to Teaching, is funded by The Dallas Foundation and eliminates financial barriers for City Year corps members, allowing them to transition into full-time teaching roles at Uplift Education schools.

Locally, the initiative will pair Baylor Scott & White Health with Uplift Education to launch a healthcare-focused high school in West Dallas later this year. "America needs more healthcare workers, and we need a stronger, larger middle-class—and this is a way to help accomplish both goals," billionaire Mike Bloomberg said.

The multi-floor space for nonprofits, philanthropies, and social impact organizations now has 26 tenants with around 500 employees. The six new ones range from the Nature Conservancy of Texas to the Lone Star Justice Alliance to SWAN Impact Network and more.
