Match Group Promotes Longtime Leader to COO; President to Step Down

Hesam Hosseini has been promoted to chief operating officer of Dallas-based Match Group, effective April 1. Gary Swidler will step down as president on that date and continue as an adviser to the company until July 4. The moves come one month after former Zillow co-founder and CEO Spencer Rascoff was appointed CEO of Match Group.

But lately it's been running downright dangerous—with dating scams emptying victims' bank accounts and leaving would-be sweethearts broken both emotionally and financially. Today Dallas-based Match Group tried to do something about it by launching a global public awareness campaign to help daters and consumers "date safer" and "stay protected against the different forms of online fraud."
