Seeds 2 STEM Wins 2022 Pegasus Prize from The Dallas Foundation

Led by CEO Branden Williams, a former ninth-grade biology teacher, Seeds 2 STEM provides workshops and after-school programs in STEM education to underserved communities in Dallas-Fort Worth.
"With the prize winnings, we're launching a workplace readiness app for high school kids," Williams told WFAA. "We want kids to have access to quality jobs and be prepared to take on livable wage jobs in the STEM space."

The annual Pegasus Prize is a $50,000 grant awarded to a local organization applying innovative approaches to addressing community needs. This year's finalists are Kosmos Arts & Tech, Project Lorenzo, and Seeds 2 STEM. The winner will be announced Tuesday at a 5 p.m. ceremony at Pegasus Park.

The Dallas Foundation Awards $2.5M+ in Racial Equity Funding to 25 Organizations

From a literacy organization to a farm and neighbor space to a nonprofit startup accelerator, the 25 first-ever recipients of The Dallas Foundation's Racial Equity Fund grants are working to make Dallas a more equitable and thriving city. The fund, launched in late 2021, seeks to address the ongoing disparities that directly impact Dallas’ Black and Hispanic residents.
The Dallas Foundation's president and CEO says he's confident the investments "will propel true, tangible change in the community."
