Since joining the nonprofit in 2015, Dawn Townsend has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission and visibility, originally leading its marketing and communications efforts, the foundation said.
The funding consists of two $1 million grants to the Child Poverty Action Lab and to the Parkland Health Foundation. Each organization will receive $250,000 annually over the next four years to provide solutions and clinical care in underserved communities.
The grants are part of the foundation’s 2025 Spring Grants cycle, intended to fuel critical programs reaching thousands of residents across the region.

The 2024 recipients of the Mary M. Jalonick Women's Philanthropy Institute grants include Dallas-based Exodus Ministries, which received the lead grant of $150,000, and Dallas nonprofits Abide Women’s Health Services, Urban Specialists, and Vogel, which received $60,000 each.
