Texas A&M is putting a major stamp on downtown Fort Worth, thanks to a $350 million research campus under construction in the Panther City. On Monday, a milestone was marked 250 feet above the future site of Texas A&M Fort Worth, which is slated to become a major hub for education, research, and innovation for years to come.

Dignitaries dug in today at the groundbreaking for Texas A&M Fort Worth. Construction will begin with the $150 million Law & Education Building, part of a three-building urban research campus. Texas A&M System Chancellor John Sharp says the campus will be "a magnet for economic growth for the North Texas region.”

Two months after selecting AECOM Hunt, Byrne Construction Services, and EJ Smith to manage “the full scope” of phase one of a major expansion of the Fort Worth Convention Center, the city's plans for the area could be getting even bigger.
An advisory committee of community stakeholders and project team representatives recently recommended that the city council spend an additional $43 million to realign Commerce Street, allowing for the development of a Convention Center District that could feature "a dynamic urban design mix of new shops, restaurants, and other experiences," the city said.
