Southlake-based Chef Holdings Inc. has appointed Terence “Terry” O’Brien to succeed Mike Buccheri as chief executive officer under a board-approved succession plan. The appointment was effective Wednesday.
Chef Holdings is the parent company of CTI Foods LLC and Liguria Foods LLC.

Founded in 2008, Managed Lab Services delivers cutting-edge laboratory support solutions to keep labs operating optimally, including vendor-managed inventory, lab support, project management, and IT operations. Flagship said it also recently acquired Biotechnical Services, an independent lab services company that specializes in lab equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance.

Gore Range Capital, which moved its headquarters from New York to Southlake in 2021, announced that David A. Hashemi, MD, MBA, a senior dermatology resident physician at Harvard Medical School, has joined the firm as entrepreneur-In-residence.

HeartSciences Pumps Life into Assessing Diastolic Dysfunction with New AI Patent

Southlake-based HeartSciences, which closed on a $6.375M IPO in June, applies AI-based technology to an ECG to detect cardiac dysfunction—one of the earliest signs of heart disease. The company says this can't be diagnosed by current conventional ECGs, making its MyoVista Wavelet ECG device a potential game changer.
CEO Andrew Simpson says adding this diagnostic information to an ECG "addresses a significant unmet need in the market with an estimated 100 million-plus ECG tests performed annually in the U.S.A. alone."
