Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center to Host Open Model and Talent Call this Saturday

Don't let that name fool you—the center offers more than fitness and enrichment programs for young people in Southern Dallas. It also offers big assists—from internships to career readiness training and more. The open call this Saturday is seeking models, actors, singers and dancers ages 16 to 50, hosted by Dallas-based J3 Productions. Past participants have gone on to successful careers. A New Bezos Academy Breaks Ground Near Southern Dallas Community

Created by Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos, Bezos Academy is building a network of tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschools in underserved communities in the U.S. The school near the new Ridge at Lancaster community will be the second to land in the city. The preschools offer year-round programming, five days a week, for children ages 3-5 years.

Southern Dallas small business owners are about to get a new space to connect, collaborate, and help grow their companies.  Comerica Bank is transforming the first floor of its R.L. Thornton location into Comerica BusinessHQ—an 8,000-SF collaborative space offering a mix of coworking spaces, incubation fellowships, and technical assistance. The center will address three big needs: "capital, cultivation, and connectivity."

The 180-foot Ryan Tower stands at the heart of the UNT Dallas campus and can be seen for miles in every direction. Funded by a $2 million gift from UNT benefactors Amanda and G. Brint Ryan, the tower is meant to serve as "an icon of the university, a symbol for higher learning, and a prominent symbol of the community it serves." "For me, it symbolizes the heights our students and our future students will attain," UNT Dallas President said at the tower's ribbon-cutting.
