It also offers big assists—from internships to career readiness training and more. The open call this Saturday is seeking models, actors, singers and dancers ages 16 to 50, hosted by Dallas-based J3 Productions. Past participants have gone on to successful careers.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson called it a "game-changing investment in the people and families of southern Dallas.” And there’s little doubt the Southern Gateway Park will be transformative once it opens as planned next year. “We are on track to break ground on the park’s amenities later this spring and open as scheduled in 2024,” a spokesperson for the Southern Gateway Public Green Foundation told WFAA this week, adding that $3 million in new funding has been secured since January 1 for the $172 million project.
