Formed earlier this year by the combination of Dallas' Access Healthcare with NYC-based SmarterDx and Austin-based Thoughtful.ai, Smarter Technologies said the new SmarterNotes solution combines SmarterDx’s proprietary clinical AI with Pieces’ industry-leading note automation workflows, "connecting the dots" from patient admission to final payment.
Pieces in your Pocket focuses on "brief, targeted interactions" that respect physicians' workflow preferences while delivering better documentation outcomes, the Irving-based company said. Main points for patient progress notes can be made on a doctor's phone "in as short as 30 to 45 seconds."
With the NCI funding—which follows Piece's $25 million growth financing round announced in September—Pieces will partner with Cleveland-based MetroHealth to deploy a new conversational AI agent for cancer patients called "PiecesChat."
"Our mission is to help those who help others," says Pieces Technologies CEO Dr. Ruben Amarasingham. With $25M in growth funding, Dallas-based Pieces is gearing up to transform hospital care with AI that streamlines clinical workflows and eases the load on care teams.
