RedBird is donating the space for a 15,000-square-foot childcare facility run by Vogel at the reimagined and revitalized The Shops at RedBird. Called The Rita Sue and Alan Gold Child and Family Center in recognition of the Golds’ longtime support of and service to Vogel, the center will expand Vogel’s reach and offer onsite access to anyone working at RedBird, as well as the community at large.

The mall revitalization project has brought thriving new commerce, innovation, and healthcare services to the area.

UT Southwestern Medical Center at RedBird is a new, 150,000-square-foot hospital that instantly becomes a core feature of the redeveloped Redbird Mall. Located in a former Sears store, the new hospital marks the first time UTSW has transformed a former retail space into a regional medical center. “In RedBird, we recognized an opportunity to expand our footprint in Dallas and to have a vital presence in a community that has traditionally been underserved by the health care industry," said UTSW's Dr. Marc Nivet.

Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance Raises $10M for Historic ‘Rapid Rehousing’ Program

The private donations by local companies and foundations are for the Dallas R.E.A.L. Time Rapid Rehousing initiative. Its goal: house more than 2,700 homeless people and families over the next two years.
