KTX Biennial Public Art Show To Launch Along Katy Trail in 2027

To be displayed along the 3.5-mile former railroad corridor running through Dallas’ Uptown, Knox, and Highland Park neighborhoods, the KTX Biennial invites the Katy Trail’s two million annual visitors, along with new audiences, to explore and interact with art from today’s most compelling artists.

HFI is the family office of Ken Hersh, the former CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. He now plans to relocate HFI to the new Design District building, which offers "Y'all Street" proximity to nearby old-money icons Old Parkland and The Crescent.

For 31 years, Chuy's has had an Instagram-ready location at Knox & McKinney in Dallas. That's 17 years longer than Instagram has existed—but the clock is now ticking. The Austin-based restaurant brand plans to move the location two miles east to 1520 Greenville Avenue in April 2025, according to the Dallas Morning News. Thankfully, the Elvis statue will go along for the ride. And hopefully so will the hubcap ceiling, the pet photo wall, and the countless art works and sculptures that make this spot special.

Dallas is inching, walking, jogging, and pedaling its way toward completion of The Loop, a 50-mile, $135 million hike-and-bike trail that aims to connect people, neighborhoods, green spaces, and much more via a sweeping loop from White Rock Lake to the northeast to Oak Cliff and downtown Dallas and down south through the Trinity Forest before circling back northward again.

The high-rise Knox Street project sits on a four-acre site adjacent to the Katy Trail and Highland Park. Once completed, it will feature a luxury hotel and condominiums, a 27-story multifamily building, nine floors of offices above two stories of retail and restaurants, and a half-acre park connected to the Katy Trail.
