An iconic Luby's Cafeteria on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas has been transformed by Imperial Fizz Hospitality into a patio-driven bar & grill with a “cosmic country” aesthetic drawing inspiration from Texas history, Marfa, and "East Dallas’ funky uniqueness."

At the site of a former Luby's cafeteria, the "concept lab" at Alexis' Imperial Fizz Hospitality has cooked up a bar & grill tailored to the neighborhood's needs. With a patio bigger than an NBA basketball court and a Marfa-esque vibe, Birdie's Eastside will be "just like East Dallas," Alexis says: "casually Texan, a little boho, super comfy, and easygoing."

Imperial Fizz Is Building a Dallas Restaurant Portfolio ‘By Doing It Backwards’

Dallas restaurateur Jon Alexis is opening Ramble Room in Snider Plaza as the second venture of his company Imperial Fizz, following the successful launch of Escondido Tex-Mex in Preston Hollow. The two-story Ramble Room will open in early spring, offering "approachable, everyday American classic dishes." It's part of Alexis' "do it backwards" approach: "We find a great spot in a great neighborhood, and figure out what those neighbors need," Alexis said.
