Deep Ellum Music Festival Celebrates Area’s 150th Birthday, Benefits Mental Health Nonprofit

From noon to 8 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 18, Dallas' Deep Ellum is continuing its 150th birthday celebration with the Deep Ellum Music Festival. Free and open to the public, the festival will benefit Foundation 45, a local mental health nonprofit born in Deep Ellum and serving musicians, artists, and the entire community with free group therapy.

Foundation 45, a local nonprofit that offers free mental health and recovery services to the Dallas-Fort Worth creative community, is hosting the event October 21 in Deep Ellum. The organization was founded by the the former drummer of the band Spector 45 after two of his bandmates committed suicide, and strives to help other creatives on their own struggles with mental health.

Foundation 45 is a therapy group aiming to help Deep Ellum artists and musicians express their thoughts about depression and suicide.
The idea came from Dallas musician Anthony Delabano, who said he struggled to find help after the suicides of his two bandmates in Spector 45....
