Westlake-based Charles Schwab is making the holidays a little brighter for families in need, with more than 3,200 employees across the country volunteering to pack more than half a million nutritious meals to be distributed within their local communities. The Charles Schwab Foundation granted a further $750,000 to local food banks and nonprofits, "addressing a critical need this holiday season."

Grow North Texas has become the Dallas-area affiliate for The Giving Grove, a nationwide initiative promoting community orchards to help neighborhoods facing high rates of food insecurity. After winning a $100K Kubota Hometown Proud grant, it could get $100K more in a public vote through August 14—and you might win a Kubota mower or tractor if you vote.

Starbucks provided an initial $100,000 investment in support of the food bank’s efforts in 2021. The North Texas Food Bank is a member of the Feeding America network and is one of 16 food banks to receive this second grant from Starbucks.
