Overair said it expects the eVTOL air taxi operations to offer a direct connection to Arlington's Entertainment District, the home of Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Arlington Renegades, and the WNBA’s Dallas Wings—as well as numerous restaurants, shopping centers, museums, and live entertainment venues. The service could begin in 2028.

Red Oak’s Qarbon Aerospace Partners with Hyundai Subsidiary on Electric Air Taxi Project

Supernal, a Washington, D.C.-based air taxi unit of Hyundai Motor Group, will use Qarbon's thermoplastic induction welding tech for its six-rotor air taxis. The air taxis are designed to carry up to four passengers with a pilot operating the controls, for quick trips within cities as soon as 2028.

Jaunt is one of only 11 companies out of 200 entrants to get a next-stage investment from the High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing Concept Challenge. Its solution, the MAV 55, uses a patented slow rotor technology that delivers a lift-to-drag ratio up to five times better than a helicopter—and ultra-low noise that's "practically imperceptible" when flying.

Beyond defense, the startup founded in 2019 is also building commercial eVTOL aircraft that can move both people and packages.
