The California-based company’s 45,000-square-foot lease at Alliance Air Trade Center in Haslet is the first significant North Texas presence for the electric air taxi maker. Joby says it will test flights across Dallas-Fort Worth in September under the Federal Aviation Administration’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program.

Red Oak’s Qarbon Aerospace Partners with Hyundai Subsidiary on Electric Air Taxi Project

Supernal, a Washington, D.C.-based air taxi unit of Hyundai Motor Group, will use Qarbon's thermoplastic induction welding tech for its six-rotor air taxis. The air taxis are designed to carry up to four passengers with a pilot operating the controls, for quick trips within cities as soon as 2028.

The new investors include Calin Rovinescu, former president and CEO of Air Canada, and Mitch Garber, minority owner of the NHL's Seattle Kraken. “eVTOL air taxis is an obvious next-gen hyper-growth area,” Garber said, calling them a way to change "how we move and facilitate a greener efficient global economy.”
