HBCU Bands March into Dallas-Fort Worth for 2027

After seven years in Houston, the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands showcase is relocating to Arlington’s AT&T Stadium. Organizers say the move reflects the region’s growing pull for cultural and sports programming and a chance to put HBCU marching bands’ artistry, scholarship funding and decades of tradition in front of the region’s business and alumni networks.

This was Faizan Zaki's fourth time participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. He finished second in 2024 in a spell-off to Bruhat Soma. Zaki is the fifth speller in Bee history to win after coming in second place the year before.
