The Dallas Foundation Awards More Than $1.4M to 27 Impact-Focused Organizations

From POETIC—which helps girls who've experienced maltreatment, commercial sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking to find their voices—to Parks for Downtown Dallas, Café Momentum, Family Gateway and more, the 27 nonprofits share one ultimate goal, The Dallas Foundation says: They all provide "children and families with a brighter and more equitable community to live in.”

Santander Consumer USA Invests $7M to Bridge Digital Divide in Dallas

Santander Consumer will partner with tech and community nonprofit Comp-U-Dopt to provide free high-speed Internet connectivity to up to 10,000 Dallas student households, along with free laptop computers, training, and support to eligible low-income residents. It's the first step in a two-year program to include several other cities, funded by a total of $35 million in grants from Dallas-based Santander Consumer's foundation.

The Dallas Education Foundation is being recognized for driving the creation of an “educational metaverse” for DISD. Developed by Dallas-based STEMuli Technology, the metaverse is currently being piloted at Dallas Hybrid Prep, the district’s first permanently hybrid school. The STOP Awards, funded by Philadelphia benefactor Janine Yass, will provide a total of $3.5 million in prizes for exceptional educational responses during the COVID pandemic.
