Skybox Datacenters Begins Work on Massive Data Center in Southern Dallas County

"PowerCampus Dallas will raise the bar in the North Texas data center market and beyond," Skybox CEO Rob Morris said of the project in Lancaster. It's slated to provide up to 300 megawatts of power supported by a private onsite substation while offering up to one million square feet of data center space.

The companies' 110,000 square-foot "integration facility" will be built adjacent to Compass' Red Oak campus (above), creating more than 100 jobs and enabling both companies to integrate their supply chain networks in response to data center business growth and customer demands.

Several large leases signed by social media and financial services users—whose identities were not disclosed—drove the swell of activity in Q4. That led to "incredibly strong" net leasing activity for the full year, CBRE says.
That's now driving lots of new data center construction here, and may increase asking rates in 2022 and beyond. With "no end in sight" to the market growth, CBRE's Brant Bernet believes we're only in the "early innings" of an extra-inning game.
