UTA Fires Up Heat Shield Research with New Hypersonic Wind Tunnel

The wind tunnel will be used for research funded by $1.5 million in grants from the Office of Naval Research. Speed creates heat-producing friction, and the funding will go toward studying shields to protect hypersonic vehicles.
