Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners announced that Garrett Colburn has been appointed as president, responsible for driving the company’s national growth and enhancing office productivity and culture.
Colburn will work closely with CEO Chris Maguire to expand across various platforms, including retail, capital markets, and industrial sectors. He will also serve on SRS’s Executive Committee, guiding the firm’s strategy both domestically and globally.
“I’m honored to step into the position of president and build on our company’s exceptional culture and success,” Colburn said in a statement. “SRS has a strong foundation, and I’m committed to working with our talented team to drive significant growth and solidify our position as an industry leader.”
In a statement, Maguire said the move “signals a continued commitment to growth for SRS.”
“Garrett’s industry experience and successful track record as a broker and leader within the company made him the ideal choice to elevate SRS to the next level,” said Maguire, who will continue as CEO and chairman of the board, emphasizing the importance of the leadership transition for SRS’ strategic vision.
Growing SRS’ Southern California office since 2012
Colburn currently holds the position of managing principal and co-market leader for SRS’ five California offices. Since joining the company in 2012, he has been instrumental in the growth of the Southern California office, which has expanded from two retail professionals to over 45. This office is now the company’s largest and one of its top performers nationwide, with transactions exceeding $1.6 billion in 2023.
Colburn has also been involved in the development of the National Net Lease team. This team has grown significantly, becoming one of the larger net lease platforms in the industry, with $2.2 billion in transactions reported for 2023.
In his 15-year career in retail brokerage, Colburn has overseen more than $3 billion in transactions. His work has been recognized by industry publications such as Chain Store Age and Real Estate Forum. Within SRS, he has consistently been named a Top Producer and has received the Chairman’s Award.
In Colburn’s new role as president, CEO Maguire will work closely with him to identify new market and business growth opportunities. Founded in 1986 and with 29 offices across the U.S., the company said it is building upon its retail foundation to provide “extensive commercial real estate solutions to tenants, owners, and investors.”
As CEO Maguire puts it, “We’re well-positioned for strategic growth with Garrett’s leadership.”
