Plano’s Fortress Solutions Appoints New Chief Revenue Officer

Fortress—a leading provider of telecom, mobile, and video equipment repair services—said Scott Bowman is an accomplished sales executive and general manager with extensive experience in the IT industry.

Scott Bowman has been appointed chief revenue officer of Plano-based Fortress Solutions, a global provider of custom solutions for critical infrastructure management and support for telecommunications carriers, private wireless networks, and complex communication needs.

“Scott is an extremely strong and experienced leader,” Fortress CEO John Shelnutt said in a statement. “We’re ecstatic to welcome Scott with open arms. The in-depth knowledge Scott brings to our team will enhance the growth experience for both Fortress and our customers.”

Fortress said that Bowman is an accomplished sales executive and general manager with extensive experience in the information technology industry. The company said he has excelled at improving customer outcomes by building strong solutions and high-performing teams that provide results and spur profitable growth, especially during times of significant change.

Bowman’s experience aligns with Fortress’ current growth strategy of focusing on service provider, private wireless, and industry 4.0 markets, the company said. His experience will further facilitate the company’s transformation into a software and services company, while maintaining its foundation as a leader of third-party repair services.

Bowman’s diverse background positions him well for this role at Fortress, the company added. He has served in various senior executive positions at IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, Unisys Corporation, and most recently, was responsible for all North America sales, including all routes-to-market, for Sungard Availability Services.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Fortress family and am looking forward to engaging not only with the dedicated Fortress team, but our loyal customers around the globe,” Bowman said. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of the leadership team as we guide Fortress through this period of significant industry change.”
