North Texas Angels Network Invests $150K in Tech Startup PodUp

The North Texas Angel Network has invested $150,000 into the startup PodUp, a software-as-a-service platform helping create, grow, and monetize next-level podcasts in a single, integrated platform, to accelerate their ability to serve clients.

NTAN. an accredited angel investor organization. said that PodUp’s platform provides the first all-in-one podcast platform, with 35 integrated modules available for an affordable price, saving podcast creators “a lot of time and effort.”

“We’re thrilled to take part in this round of funding for PodUp,” Adi Prakash, an NTAN member and due diligence lead, said in a statement. “Our decision to invest in PodUp stems from our deep belief in supporting ventures that not only promise innovative solutions but also have the potential to redefine their industry sectors. PodUp’s unique approach to podcasting represents the kind of forward-thinking and market-responsive innovation that NTAN seeks in the companies we support.”

NTAN said that 11 of its members have invested the $150,000 in PodUp.

The organization said its members bring a rich diversity of entrepreneurial, business building, and senior executive management experience across various industries, positioning the investors uniquely to assist PodUp in its growth journey. NTAN said the collaboration underscores its role in not just funding, but also nurturing the growth of promising early-stage companies through both financial and experiential capital.

All-in-one podcasting platform

“The NTAN investment is helping us improve the PodUp software, add AI functionality to make the software easier to use, improve the user experience, and market the software to increase users. Also, the credibility of having received an investment from the North Texas Angel Network has helped open doors for us with other angels and investors,” PodUp’s CEO Nathan Gwillim said in a statement.

NTAN said that PodUp’s software enables podcast creators an all-in-one platform with the capabilities to create, publish, promote, analyze, and monetize their podcast channels. The startup created a solution to streamline the process for podcasters with an affordable subscription.

PodUp has integrated AI into its technology to simplify and improve podcasts by providing SEO generation, suggested reels and shorts, course creation assistance and eye contact correction.

“NTAN investors have seen the explosive growth of the podcast business and chose to invest in PodUp, that is delivering a suite of tools to make it easier for anyone to get their podcast up and running,” NTAN Executive Director Jeff Murphy said in a statement.

NTAN members had a recent ‘quick exit’ from investment in Responsum

Last week, we told you about NTAN members gaining a quick exit from an investment in one of NTAN’s portfolio startups, Austin-based Responsum, which has been acquired by Elixirr, a global consulting firm.

Since 2008, the North Texas Angel Network has connected early-stage companies with angel investors to help private investors make private deals with private companies. The nonprofit, member-led organization reviews investment opportunities across industries, including medical device and service companies, software and hardware technology, and construction innovation, among others. NTAN is a member of the Angel Capital Association and is one of the oldest and largest networks in Texas.
