Snagajob, an online platform for hourly work, has announced the launch of Snag Work Dallas.
Snag Work connects employers with hourly workers looking for shifts in the retail, restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, and distribution sectors.
“With 57 million gig workers in the U.S. today, employers continue to embrace the gig economy but need a way to easily find qualified workers on short notice,” said Mathieu Stevenson, CEO of Snagajob, in a statement. “We’re excited to be launching in the Dallas market to meet the needs of local businesses.”
Stevenson added that 70 percent of shifts posted on Snag Work are filled in minutes, making the platform ideal for workers looking for extra income or a job that fits their lifestyle. The gig economy is changing the face of traditional employment, and the Snag Work platform is part of the evolving hiring process that meets the needs of job seekers and businesses.
Workers are pre-qualified with W2 status through a vetting process, which means employers are able to find people ready to pick up available shifts. Job seekers are able to control their schedules and are guaranteed at least $10 per hour, a 30 percent lift over minimum wage.
“We pride ourselves on matching the best employees to the right businesses looking to fill shifts in a timely manner,” said Blake Pinard, head of Snag Work at Snagajob. “Dallas is a growing city with 6.8 million people making it an ideal market for Snag Work. With the upcoming holiday season, Dallas companies will be better able to quickly hire qualified hourly workers for critical shifts. As the Dallas metropolitan area continues to grow, we look to continue to bring value to the community by solving real challenges for both workers and businesses.”
Snagajob is based in Virginia and connects more than 100 million registered job seekers with shifts at 470,000 employer locations in North America. Its mission is to “put people in the right fit positions so they can maximize their potential and live more fulfilling lives.”
The company hosted a hiring event today, Nov. 6 at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel to allow hourly workers to become pre-qualified on the platform. Area companies participating on the Snag Work platform include Which Which, Hotel Indigo, and Michael Johnson Performance Center.
