Dallas-based Learner Mobile has announced the launch of a microlearning employee training platform that will allow employers to easily create training content, and employees to access that content conveniently via their mobile device.
Per Learner Mobile, the platform is designed to replace high-cost learning management systems (LMSs)—at a much lower price point—as a performance support and enhancement tool.
The platform lets companies change and upgrade training materials in real-time, which is especially well-suited for widely-distributed or remote workforces. Another differentiator from traditional employee training LMSs is the ability to offer “informal learning” by providing employees with “hyper-relevant, bite-sized, easily-digestible pieces of information.”
“We built Learner Mobile for today’s workers, whose learning and training needs never stop,” said Mike Thompson, CEO and founder of Learner Mobile, in a statement. “Our approach is to focus on informally delivering the ideal content at the exact moment of need.”
Thompson added, “By leveraging technologies that employees are already adept at using, we significantly reduce the cost to companies of delivering that learning. In a world measured in seconds, access to information right now is the competitive differentiator. We deliver knowledge (and therefore, value) fast.”
The platform already has users across a range of industries including retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare, such as Dillard’s, BSN Sports, Dentsply Sirona, and AutoNation.
Along with the cost savings over a traditional LMS and real-time training content management, Learner Mobile also analyzes the learning communities’ activities, giving companies data that can be used to customize and optimize the training experience.
The platform allows employers to reach their teams with everything from how-to videos to safety and compliance content to competitive information. Everything can be access from a mobile device, whether those employees are in the office, on a manufacturing floor, or somewhere outside.
“I’m passionate about making sure that my team has all of the information they need to stay one step ahead of both the customer and our competition,” said Sheryl Porter, director of beauty education, Dillard’s Stores, in a statement. “Learner Mobile provides the right content at the right time to my team—right in the palm of theirs hands. It’s a blast to use, it cultivates our culture and creates a community of top-notch beauty experts. Best of all, it has increased productivity and boosts sales and really elevated our service standards.”
Learner Mobile was founded in 2012 under the parent company SVI, and is a veteran-owned business.
